Morgan McClelland
MA, Registered Psychologist, EMDR Therapist
If you want to build upon self-awareness, create closer relationships, understand your relational triggers/trauma responses, work to be assertive, increase your connection to yourself, and increase self-compassion, I would be privileged to support you.
I don't come to the room having all of the answers. I come to the room believing that you, and all of my clients, are entering therapy to heal and grow in ways that you are already capable of. It is my job to be there with you as you do.

Therapy Services
I integrate a variety of evidence-based approaches to foster healing and growth in therapy. Drawing from Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), I help individuals process traumatic experiences and reduce their emotional distress through guided techniques that facilitate adaptive healing.
Utilizing ego state therapy, I encourage clients to explore their internal dynamics, helping them access, understand and integrate the various parts of themselves. This approach, coupled with insights from attachment theory, allows clients to address relational patterns and enhance connection to themselves and others.
I emphasize the importance of corrective experiences and provide a safe and supportive environment where clients can engage in new, positive interactions that challenge past negative experiences. I am extremely client centered. I want to make all of my clients feel valued and understood. The therapeutic alliance is my priority.
Incorporating experiential therapy techniques, I encourage clients to express and process their emotions in the moment, promoting deeper insights and personal growth.
I feel privileged to sit with people during their healing process. But I don’t believe that I am the knowledge holder of your life. I recognize that and want to support you in using your existing strengths and experiences to create a strong basis for you to move forward- one that is rooted in resilience.
Veterans Affairs Assessments
A Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) assessment refers to the evaluation process used to determine a veteran's eligibility for various benefits and services offered by the department.
I will meet with the member/veteran for a period of time for a clinical interview. They will then complete a set of psychological batteries to assist with the assessment. I then put together the information from the interview and subsequent clinical batteries to complete a report that is sent to Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) to be further processed.
Many areas of functioning are assessed during these interviews including, but not limited to, mood, anxiety, substance use, trauma, medical and psychiatric history, current treatment, and coping strategies.
Please note that completing an assessment does not guarantee a diagnosis or further funding/support. It is simply an investigation of the presenting problem(s), an assessment of overall functioning, and a recommendation for treatment (when applicable). I do not decide what is approved or not approved once assessment has been completed.
Personality/General Assessments
A personality assessment is a tool used to evaluate an individual's personality traits, behaviors, and characteristics. These assessments can provide insights into how people think, feel, and interact with others.
The purpose of these assessments is to help individuals gain insight into their own personality, strengths, and areas for growth. They are also used for clinical evaluation and diagnosis to inform treatment.
Similar to the VAC assessment, the client would attend a clinical interview, complete a set of psychological batteries, and a report would be written (if applicable). Please note that completion of an assessment will not guarantee a diagnosis. Rather, the purpose is to understand current mental health functioning and to inform treatment.
General mental health assessments focus on trauma and stressor-related disorders, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, dissociative disorders, personality disorders, and more.
